Function:
- Serve in a consultative role in the development of a Family Studies Minor aimed at:
- Developing an understanding of the issues and problems confronting contemporary American families from the anthropological, historical, psychological, religious, and sociological perspectives.
- Providing an interdisciplinary liberal arts base for those students who wish to pursue graduate study in the field of family studies.
- Providing a knowledge of family studies that will foster the personal and social development of the individual student.
- Make recommendations concerning administration and coordination of the Family Studies Minor.
- Promote study and faculty interest in Family Studies.
Membership:
- Coordinator of Family Studies Minor/Sociology Representative.
- One Representative from History.
- One Representative with a Religious Studies emphasis.
- One Representative from Psychology.
- One Representative from Nursing.
- One Representative from Social Work.
Chair: Kathleen Nybroten – Designated by the Provost/Vice Chancellor.
Term: For membership categories 2-6, three years, rotating.
