Technology Workshops by Request
Help us understand how we can help make this a successful learning experience for the students.
To request a BITS workshop, please complete our workshop request form.
Policies
For any workshop that complements a technology-based assignment, the following policies apply.
- Five to seven days notice for us to schedule and adequately prepare our staff for the workshop(s).
- Presence of Faculty member at the workshop(s). Copy of the assignment and grading rubric provided at the time of the workshop request.
- Collaborative meeting between the faculty member and BITS representative five to seven days prior to the workshop to discuss the assignment, use the technology to create the assignment, and discuss any customized training that will be required.
New Policy for Repeat Requests
The first two times a specific workshop is requested, we will provide the teaching materials and instruction. For the third and fourth workshop requests, we will act as troubleshooters while the instructor teaches the workshop. For all subsequent workshops, we will expect the instructor to be the primary resource and our involvement will be limited to one-on-one assistance for the instructor or students.

Personalized Training
Personalized training is available during our office hours and other times by appointment.
Students can enhance their knowledge of computers and software through one-on-one sessions with a BITS trainer.
We offer training to all current students...according to each students' needs, allowing each student to focus on particular software and skill areas.
Even if you already know how to use the computer and programs such as Word and PowerPoint, we may be able to help enhance your skills and teach you ways to work more efficiently.
Make an Appointment or Walk-In
When making an appointment you will be asked for a brief description your experience and what you are looking for in your personalized session. With this information, the BITS trainer will tailor the session to help you achieve your goals. Appointments can be arranged in three ways.
- One-on-One Training Request Form
- Call 836.5157
- Stop by the BITS office in Old Library 1106, adjacent to the OL 1108 GA lab
Walk-ins are welcome; however, walk-ins are subject to trainer availability and time slots fill quickly, especially near the end of the semester.
