The Delaware Study: National Study of Instructional Costs and Productivity
We participated in the University of Delaware’s National Study of Instructional Costs and Productivity for the first time during the 2007-08 academic year. The Office of Institutional Research created large data files and sent them to the University of Delaware for participation in the study. The Delaware Study data can be used to compare cost and productivity data from UW-Eau Claire academic departments to similar disciplines across the nation. The results of this study will be available fall semester 2008. For more information about the study please visit http://www.udel.edu/IR/cost/.
Program to Evaluate and Enhance Quality (PEEQ)
This one-time, all-campus study of our existing programs and services will help direct the university in the next steps of the Strategic Plan. The Office of Institutional Research will be providing much of the academic department data needed for this study during the fall of 2008. For more information on the PEEQ process please visit http://www.uwec.edu/acadaff/peeq/PEEQindex.htm.
Equity Scorecard
Several UW Campuses are participating in this process that will assess an institution’s performance with regard to equitable outcomes for students of color. A campus evidence team looks at institutional data to learn how students of color fare in four key areas: access, retention, excellence, and institutional receptivity. Large amounts of data have been and continue to be extracted, aggregated, graphed and provided to the team by the Office of Institutional Research. The final campus Equity Scorecard report will be shared with campus spring 2009. Please visit http://www.uwec.edu/diversity/eqs.htm.
VSA - College Portrait
All UW Campuses are participating in a new initiative called Voluntary System of Accountability (VSA), designed to provide greater, more uniform accountability information across all public universities and colleges. UW-Eau Claire’s VSA College Portrait is posted on our website at http://collegeportraits.org/WI/UWEC. For more information on the VSA project please visit http://www.voluntarysystem.org/index.cfm.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
After the University's Centennial Plan was adopted, the University Planning Committee began the work of building the "yardstick" by which progress toward the goals of the Plan (and it's Gold Arrow Priorities) could be measured. A list of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) was created to serve this purpose. IR staff had input in creating this list of KPIs, are responsible for providing the data for these KPIs, and are charged with creating a KPI "dashboard" by which the campus community (specifically adminstrators) will be able to track Centennial Plan progress. KPI data are available on the Strategic Planning website.
