The Theory-Composition and Music History Division of the Department of Music and Theatre Arts provides courses that emphasize skill development, analysis, critical thinking, and working creatively with musical material. Division faculty members are active as researchers, composers, and performers. In addition to offering core classes for all music majors, the division offers Bachelor of Music degree programs in Theory, Composition, and Music History for students that wish to specialize in these areas and possibly continue their work in graduate school.
