UW-Eau Claire forensics team fares well at recent tournaments

EAU CLAIRE — The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire forensics team finished well at recent tournaments in Wisconsin and Minnesota.

The team competed in the Wisconsin Swing Tournaments Nov. 10 and 11, placing third in team sweepstakes at the Badger Memorial Tournament at UW-Madison and fifth in team sweepstakes at the Edna Sorber Tournament at UW-Whitewater.

The team continued its success by placing second in team sweepstakes at the Twin Cities Forensics League Tournament No. 2 Nov. 13 at Normandale Community College in Bloomington, Minn.

Individual results for Nov. 10 are as follows:

Freshman Jake Wrasse, Durand, placed second in after-dinner speaking and fourth in impromptu speaking.

Freshman Heidi Feyereisen, Roberts, placed sixth in prose interpretation and sixth in persuasion.

Sophomore Jake Stendahl, Forest Lake, Minn., placed third in prose interpretation, fifth in poetry, sixth in dramatic interpretation and sixth in program oral interpretation.

Senior Megan Chilman, Le Sueur, Minn., placed fourth in program oral interpretation and fifth in informative speaking.

Individual results for Nov. 11 are as follows:

Sophomore Jake Stendahl, Forest Lake, Minn., placed third in program oral interpretation.

Freshman Heidi Feyereisen, Roberts, placed fifth in persuasion.

Sophomore Demetrius Evans, Chicago, Ill., placed fifth in poetry and sixth in dramatic interpretation.

Sophomore Kyra Witcher, Apple Valley, Minn., placed fifth in prose interpretation.

Individual results for Nov. 13 are as follows:

Freshman Heidi Feyereisen, Roberts, placed third in persuasion.

Freshman Jake Wrasse, Durand, placed first in persuasion and first in impromptu speaking.

Freshman Elijah Freeman, Ladysmith, placed sixth in impromptu speaking.

Senior Megan Chilman, Le Sueur, Minn., placed first in program oral interpretation.

Freshman Sarah Doege, St. Charles, Ill., placed third in extemporaneous speaking.

Sophomore Caitlyn Duley, Saint Michael, Minn., placed third in after-dinner speaking.

Freshman Ben Thompson Isaac, Chaska, Minn., placed third in dramatic interpretation.
