Continuing Education to offer wound treatment program for health care professionalsMay 14, 2013
EAU CLAIRE — University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire Continuing Education/UW-Extension will offer an online program designed to meet the growing need for skilled wound care providers across health care settings.
The Wound Treatment Associate Online Program begins July 20 and concludes with a clinical skills competency test Oct. 19. It is endorsed by the Wound, Ostomy and Continence Nurses Society.
The course is designed for registered nurses, licensed practical/vocational nurses or military medics/corpsmen, however, all health care providers could benefit from this comprehensive certificate program.
Participants may earn 21 continuing nursing education contact hours and a certificate verifying program completion. Academic credit for the program is pending.
Dr. Tara Beuscher, an adult nurse practitioner specializing in wound, ostomy and continence care with the University of Virginia Health System, is the course coordinator.
