EAU CLAIRE — Registration is now open for "The Unplanned Journey," a conference for professionals who help individuals and families through the bereavement process. The program, hosted by the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay in partnership with UW-Eau Claire Continuing Education, will be held from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Aug. 7 at the Sleep Inn Suites & Conference Center in Eau Claire.
The conference is designed for social workers, professional counselors, marriage and family therapists, nurses, clergy, funeral directors, pastoral ministers, chaplains, and health and human services professionals. Participants may earn continuing education units or continuing education hours for attending the conference.
Conference presenter William G. Hoy is a national expert on dying and bereavement with more than 25 years of experience in hospice, congregations, bereavement centers and higher education. He is active in leadership for the Association for Death Education and Counseling, and chairs a special interest group on school crisis intervention. Hoy is a member of the Association for Practical Theology and National Coalition of Independent Scholars.
The cost to attend is $119 per person and includes registration, continental breakfast, lunch, materials and a CEU/CEH certificate.
