Proposals, sponsors and exhibitors sought for Fifth Annual Youth Transition ConferenceSeptember 5, 2013
EAU CLAIRE — University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire Continuing Education/UW-Extension is now accepting presentation proposals, sponsorship applications and exhibit reservations for the Fifth Annual Youth Transition Conference, which will be held Jan. 10, 2014, on the UW-Eau Claire campus.
Charles Facktor, a corrections complaint examiner for the state of Wisconsin and a pioneer for disability rights in Wisconsin, will be the keynote speaker.
The conference is designed for teens and young adults with disabilities and their families. Educators and other professionals are also encouraged to attend. Workshop sessions include options, issues and concerns young people face as they transition into adulthood. Specific topics focus on employment, post-secondary education, life skills, community resources, money management and assistive technology.
Presentation proposals are due Sept. 15. The deadline for exhibit reservations is Dec. 1. Sponsorships should be confirmed by Dec. 31.
