Sally Julson appointed University Printing Services managerDecember 18, 2013
EAU CLAIRE — The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire has announced the appointment of Sally Julson as manager of University Printing Services.
A unit of the University Centers located in Schofield Hall, Printing Services provides affordable and convenient printing and production services for students, faculty, staff, academic departments and administrative offices, and the public. Julson manages all aspects of the printing operation, including the campuswide convenience copier program and the area's responsibilities as the print purchasing agent for the campus. Printing Services ensures that all off-campus printing using state monies is purchased in accordance with state law and policy.
Beginning in June 2013, UW-Stout closed its own print shop and contracted with UW-Eau Claire's Printing Services. When Julson was approached about the feasibility of serving the printing needs of both campuses, she and her staff prepared the successful financial analysis and proposal. The resulting collaboration has been a major move in increasing efficiency and saving taxpayer dollars.
Julson joined the UW-Eau Claire staff in January 1980 as a limited-term employee in the University Bookstore. She worked as an LTE in the bookstore, biology department and music department for the next 11 years. She received a permanent position in the University Bookstore in 1991, and became assistant manager in 1998.
In 2001 Julson was transferred to Printing Services as assistant manager. She has served as interim manager since the retirement of Michael Alred in 2009.
