SUBJECT: UW-Eau Claire among hosts of STEM Day at county fair July 27
"Flubber" making, rocket making, liquid nitrogen demonstrations, and Diet Coke and Mentos explosions are just some of the hands-on activities to be offered during STEM Day from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday, July 27, at the Eau Claire County Fair.
UW-Eau Claire faculty and students will help lead the activities designed to allow participants to explore science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM).
STEM Day activities will take place in the main tent at the center of the fairgrounds. Event partners are UW-Eau Claire Admissions, Blugold Beginnings program and STEM faculty; UW-Extension's Eau Claire County 4-H program; and Chippewa Valley Technical College.
Members of the media are welcome to cover STEM Day at the Eau Claire County Fair. Jodi Thesing-Ritter, UW-Eau Claire associate dean of students and director of the university's Blugold Beginnings program, is available during the event to talk to reporters and to facilitate interviews with other STEM Day participants.
