Funding Opportunities
One of the “Marks of Excellence” of UW-Eau Claire is its emphasis on student participation in scholarly and creative activity. Listed below are several grant opportunities available to help undergraduate students participate in their scholarly and creative endeavors. Scholarship opportunities are also available.
Students may work with a faculty member to apply for any of the following grant opportunities:
Work on a project over the summer
- Receive a stipend of up to $2000 through the Summer Research Experiences for Undergraduates program, and up to $500 to spend on research expenses. (deadline February 15)
Work on a project during the academic year
- Receive a stipend of up to $2100 through the Faculty/Student Research Collaboration program, and up to $700 to spend on research expenses. (deadlines July 15, September 15)
- Receive an award of up to $2000 through the Diversity Mentoring program. This program is designed to enhance engagement of low-income students and students of color in faculty/student undergraduate research collaboration. At least three-quarters of the award will be used for student stipends and remaining funds may be spent on research expenses. (deadline open)
Present the results of your project
- In addition to presenting at the UW-Eau Claire Student Research Day, you can apply up to two times a year to help fund travel to present at a professional conference. You may receive up to $600 for the first trip, and a total of $1000 for the year. (deadline open)
TIP: Many professional societies offer travel funds for students (e.g., reduced conference registration fees). Check the conference/society website or contact ORSP for assistance.
