Public planetarium shows

Price: $2 at the Planetarium door


Each one hour show presents an entertaining and educational topic, and includes information about the current night sky.  Usually a multimedia program is part of the show.  You will learn some new constellations and star names, and can ask questions about the sky and astronomical topics.

 

7pm Tuesdays (adults and youth)


July: Top Ten Celestial Objects (Ages 10 and up)
August: Constellations, Myths and Legends (Ages 8 and up)
September: More Than Meets the Eye (Ages 12 and up)
October: The Stargazer (Ages 12 and up)
November: Constellations, Myths, and Legends (ages 10 and up)
December: The Top Ten Celestial Objects


 

11am Saturdays (children's shows for ages 4 - 12)


July: Lifestyles of the Stars (no show July 4)
August: Secret of the Cardboard Rocket  (ages 4-12)
September: Mr. Genius Tours the Solar System (ages 5-12)
October: Larry, Cat in Space  (ages 4-10)
November: More Than Meets the Eye (short version)   (ages 4-14)
 ==>  no show November 28 (Thanksgiving weekend)
December: 5 and Dec 12: Stories of the Stars  (ages 4-12)

Real Sky

Hobbs Observatory at Beaver Creek Reserve offers public access after dark (if it's not too cloudy) the third Saturday of the month and every clear Saturday from May to October. 

Free Astronomy lectures at Hobbs Observatory, 8pm on the third Saturday (telescope viewing afterwards around 9pm).
