Director of Special Education and Pupil Services
Program Goals
The goal of the UW-Eau Claire Director of Special Education and Pupil Services (DSEPS) is to develop a "community of learners" utilizing Desire2Learn (D2L) asynchronous online instruction.
The courses are designed to electronically access required readings, numerous libraries, and other sources via links from D2L. Traditional textbooks will also be utilized in each course.
Admission Requirements
In order to be admitted to the DSEPS program, the candidate must meet the following minimum requirements:
- Have been fully admitted to the UW-Eau Claire Master of Special Education (MSE) program OR have completed a masters degree in special education, education administration, or school psychology from an accredited institution.
- Have a minimum of a 3.0 graduate GPA.
- Submit a vita and a letter explaining their wish to pursue the DSEPS licensure.
- Submit three letters of recommendation from individuals who can attest to the applicant's potential as a special education/pupil services administrator.
- Submit an official transcript to verify degree completion and photocopy of applicable state licensure documents.
- Provide evidence of a minimum of three years of full time teaching. For school psychologists, a minimum of three years of full time professional experience.
- No graduate credit will transfer in place of the UW-Eau Claire DSEPS required courses.

- SPED 789 - Practicum: Leadership in Special Education and Pupil Services (3 cr)
